Trace out missing doctor: ANSU

ITANAGAR, Dec 27: All Nyishi Students Union (ANSU) has expresses serious concern over report that Dr Okit Peyeng, Medical Officer, Bana had gone missing from 20th of this month. In a release, ANSU General Secretary Arjun Panye has appealed to East Kameng district authorities to use entire mechanism to trace out the missing doctor at the earliest.

“This news is great cause of worry for us. We are hopeful that he is traced out at the earliest. Our prayers and sympathy is with family member of Dr Okit Peyang. We call upon district administration to take this incident seriously,” stated Arjun Panye.

Yesterday East Kameng district administration in a press release had informed that Doctor Okit Peyang, posted at Bana, has reportedly gone missing on December 20.

 

Union seeks adequate infrastructure, faculties at Seppa College

ITANAGAR, Dec 27: Ever since the state government had introduced Government College at Seppa way back in 2010, the lone college of the district has been struggling for its own existence. It is said that the college is plagued with plethora of problems ranging from infrastructure, road connectivity to insufficient teaching faculties.  

The college has been functioning temporarily at Government Higher Secondary School Seppa. In pursuit of redemption to the college, the Students Union of Government College Seppa led by its general secretary Abyas Waii Sonam submitted four points memorandum to the Director Higher & Technical Education today seeking early shifting of College at permanent site at Wessang (6 kilometers off Seppa Township). The union also sought for posting of sufficient subject teachers particularly for Hindi and Economic departments. Further it requested the DHTE for early introduction of Geography and Commerce streams at college saying that due to absence of these streams the students are compelled to opt for other subjects. It also requested the authority to enhance general educational excursion fund from Rs 60000 (Sixty thousand to One Lakh) only.

 

Christmas Celebrated

ITANAGAR, Dec 27:  The Christian Church cum Pray Centre Nirjuli celebrated the Christmas with great pomp and spiritual manner on 25th December last. Attending the festive celebration Arunachal Christian Forum general secretary Toko Teki exhorted, “we should maintain the love and peace and should do hard labour to get success in the life”. Christmas Speaker Pastor Tadar Takap said, “We should change ourselves while following the path of Lord Christ and should shun off social evil”. Various programme were organized to mark the festive occasion.

Meanwhile Lutheran Church of Bhalukpong had also celebrated Christmas with much fanfare. Local MLA Kumsi Sidisow had laid foundation stone of Lepang Huda Church in presence of ASM Agran Jebisow and Arunachal Pradesh Lutheran Church president Arun Tawe.

Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) state unit vice president and in-charge Western Parliament of the party LK Yangfo attended the 7th All Pacha Valley Joint Christmas Celebration-2013 at CRC Sebibo December on 25.

APATCYO destroys banned tobacco products

ITANAGAR, Dec 27: The Arunachal Pradesh Abo Tani Clans Youth Organization (APATCYO) burnt down large quantity of seized and banned tobacco products from the markets of Capital Complex yesterday.

While conducting the drive, the members of APATCYO caught many shopkeepers red handed while selling banned tobacco products.

Urging upon all shopkeepers to abstain from selling tobacco products, it appealed the Capital administration to continue their drive against the selling of tobacco products.

 

KCR demands action against absentee Govt staff

ITANAGAR, Dec 27: Saying that most of the government officials posted at Koloriang prefer to work from Ziro and other parts of the state as their camp office keeping their office building at Koloriang defunct, the Koloriang Citizens’ Right (KCR) has asked the DC to take disciplinary action against them.

In its letter it said, It has been witnessed that many HoDs, subordinate officers and staff remain absent from their duties, months and years together without availing proper leave. They hardly visit their posting places, one or two times within 3-4 month and staying for only 2-3 days.

It further asked the DC to issue necessary directives to the officials and staffs to shift their camp office at Koloriang as early as possible.

 

Evict land encroachers

ITANAGAR, Dec 27: All East Kameng Students Union (AEKSU) has demanded the East Kameng district authority to evict land encroachers of Govt. Hr. Sec. School, Seppa (Bebo colony) within a week failing which the union has threatened to launch democratic movement.

A team of AEKSU led by its president Karbia Sonam and general secretary Aijun Flago visited the school campus recently to take stock of the encroachment problem.

Earlier, EAKSU in a letter to the Deputy Commissioner had demanded to serve notice to all illegal land encroachers to vacate their encroached land within a month.

 

Unions seeks ex-gratia for victim family

ITANAGAR, Dec 27: The Siyum Circle Students’ Union (SICSU) has expressed disappointment that the concern authority is yet to provide ex-gratia to the fire victim Tachung Kajiring (Siyum) who lost his wife and two daughters in the devastating fire incident that occurred at Sigin colony, Daporijo in Upper Subansiri district on February 10 last.

The ex-gratia was promised by the chief minister and various leaders but he is yet to receive even a dime, it said in the release while demanding for the relief by December end.

Cong-ruled states set to implement the new Lokayukta Act by February

NEW DELHI, Dec 27: Announcing a slew of ‘reforms,’ Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi said Congress-ruled states are now set to enact the new Lokayukta Act by February 28, 2014. The Lokayukta is an anti-corruption ombudsman organization in the Indian states.

Rahul Gandhi today held a strategy session with Chief Ministers of Congress-ruled states  including Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Nabam Tuki and top leaders of the Congress. After a day-long open discussion, it was decided that  all Congress-ruled states will enact new Lokyukta legislation as provided in the Lokpal and Lokayukta Act 2013. The meeting was held to discuss the issue of corruption, Lokpal and price rise, Gandhi was quoted as saying.

Gandhi said that corruption in the country can be dealt with if the bills pending in the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha are cleared.

Among the other initiatives announced by the Congress is that by January 15 next, fruits and vegetables would be delisted from  the  respective Agricultural Produce Marketing Committee (APMC)  Acts. This will enable farmers to have a choice on price and consumers could benefit due to lower prices.

All Congress-ruled states will also invoke Essential Commodities Act, 1955  to stop hoarding, black marketing and profiteering.

All Congress-ruled states will immediately implement reforms of the Public Distribution System (PDS) to eliminate leakages.

Senior leaders who attended the meet include P Chidambaram, A K Antony, Sushilkumar Shinde, Ahmed Patel, Jairam Ramesh, Digvijay Singh, Janardan Dwivedi, Kapil Sibal and KB Thomas.

 

 

1 dead, 7 injured in tragic road accident at Anjaw

ITANAGAR, Dec 27: One died and  7 other injured in a tragic road accident which occurred on 26th December around 3.30 pm at Kherang in Anjaw district due to collapse of steel Bailey bridge when a 12-wheeler truck bearing registration No. AR-02-0468 laden with crusher machine was passing through it.

There were total eight persons in the truck when the accident took place on Hayuliang - Wallong BRO Road. The accident was so fatal that it killed one minor child Basaiso Minin aged about 3 years, of Wamliang Village and seriously injuring 7(seven) others including driver and helper. The child and one injured were immediately rushed to CHC Hospital at Hawai where the child was declared dead and the condition of the other is stated to be stable. The remaining 6 critically injured persons were brought to Hayuliang where three persons are being treated and other three critically injured including the mother of the deceased, Kolemai Minin have been referred to Dibrugarh for further treatment.

Meanwhile, Anjaw MLA cum Advisor to Chief Minister Kalikho Pul expressed shock over the tragic accident. While mourning the death of a minor child, Pul informed that he is in constant touch with the district administration and getting updates on the accident.

“I personally want to assure that I shall make all out effort to extend all necessary help to the aggrieved family and the injured persons and take up the matter with the government for ex-gratia relief. I had a detailed discussion with Army, BRO, District Administration for immediate restoration of bridge so that normal life is not affected. Col Manish Sharma of Hayuliang Army Unit has assured that he would provide all possible help in this regard,” stated Kalikho Pul.   He further added, “As Anjaw is a strategically important district where lots of developmental activities and hydro power projects are coming up including army airstrip at Wallong for which the crusher machine was being transported, it should be the sincere effort of executing agency to maintain the quality of work so that no untoward incident takes place causing loss of life and material. Unless the quality is maintained there is every chance of similar occurrence in future too.”

 

 

DPFCSAP calls Donyi Polo believers to preserve indigenous faith

ITANAGAR, Dec 27: The Donyi Polo Faith & Cultural Society of Arunachal Pradesh (DPFCSAP) has appealed all Donyi Polo faith believers to come forward and observe December 31st as Donyi-Polo day.

Talking to media persons at Press Club, President DPFCSAP Bengia Augung said, “December 31 is significant for everyone and we would like to appeal all believers to come forward and participate in the celebration.”

“Let us all come together for a movement for production and preservation of Donyi-Polo faith,” he said reiterating that due to lack of traditional system, the indigenous faith system is lagging behind.

He also called upon the community based organizations to support the cause.

DPCSAP was formed recently out of Indigenous Faith & Cultural Society of Arunachal Pradesh (IFSCAP) on the difference that the Indigenous Faith day celebration was being shifted from December 31 to December 1.

 

 

Creation of districts, subdivisions and circles should not be election lollipop: PPA

ITANAGAR, Dec 27: While welcoming the creation of districts, subdivisions and circle headquarters by the Govt. as a step to bring the administration to the people’s doorstep, People’s Party of Arunachal (PPA) has said that utmost care and attention should also be given to fulfill the infrastructural requirement including creation of jobs, office buildings, staff quarters, roads, light and water connectivity in actual.

Expressing dismay over the reckless creation of administrative centers without matching resources in the states coffer, People’s Party of Arunachal (PPA) Chief Ministerial candidate Laeta Umbrey termed the announcements as hollow promises and election lollypop. Citing an instance of a circle namely Pidi in Menchuka subdivision of West Siang, Umbrey pointed that the circle created more than three decade ago is manned by an ALC (Auxiliary Load Carrier) with no other infrastructure. “Similarly the office of the full-fledged Additional Deputy Commissioner Mechukha is manned by a new IAS recruitee and a single circle officer with no EACs,” Umbrey said. The Govt. instead of going for declaration spree of districts and circle headquarters should concentrate more on fulfilling the bare requirements of the existing set up, he said. According to Umbrey, the long pending demand for Kamla district with population of more than 20,000 and five circles with head of the constituency lying in Upper Subansiri and tail of constituency in Lower Subansiri is a genuine one.

“If the present trend of creating districts basing on arithmetic of politics continues then the day is not far when every ten to twenty families will start demanding a circle and every 10 to 20 villages start demanding a district, Umbrey said.

“What is the need of the hour today is boldness and firmness on the part of the leaders in power to learn saying no to unrealistic demands. Every public memorandum need not end up with spot declaration of districts or circles as it belittles the sanctity of the people’s highest forum of Legislative Assembly where every important issue of public interest needs to be debated, discussed and then considered on merit basis,” he added.

 

 

ALSU for transparency in FDR scheme

ITANAGAR, Dec 27: The Arunachal Law Student’s Union (ALSU) has welcomed the strong stand adopted by capital complex deputy commissioner Sanjay Goel to curb illegal sale of tobacco, liquor and his constant drive to check illegal immigration in capital complex area. In a release ALSU president Tadar Tarish claim that capital has become better place to live due to effort of honest civil service officer like present deputy commissioner.

 “Everybody is aware how congested capital roads were two years ago. However now road has been broadened and much of credit goes to DC Goel and his team. It is not easy to fight against illegal land encroachers of capital as most of them are highly influential people. Every likeminded citizen of capital complex should come out and support officer like DC capital. Infact I would say Arunachal needs more officers like him,” stated Tarish. The union also appealed him to ensure proper availability of basic need like drinking water, regular electricity supply and maintain maximum vigilance in awarding FDR work within the jurisdiction of the capital complex.

ALSU claimed maximum number of FDR scheme is allotted on pick and choose basis by the political leader, MLAs and Ministers. ALSU appealed to the DC Capital not to encourage mismanagement of the Scheme. ALSU hoped that with guidance of honest officer like DC Goel, culprit involved of Nirjuli Bank Robbery will be arrested at the earliest.

 

 

LDV needs to be included under minority block: Ering

ROING, Dec 27: Lower Dibang Valley District, being one of the areas where Christianity first began in Arunachal Pradesh, needs to be included under the minority blocks of the state,  said Union Minister of State for Minority Affairs Ninong Ering while interacting with the public and PRI leaders, Gaon Burahs and Govt officers at Circuit House, Roing  yesterday. He reiterated that every one will be benefited from the Minority Development Scheme as anganwadi centres, schools and hospitals are being taken up under the scheme.

While replying to the grievances of the people, the minister said that he is trying his best to reach out to the people and to fulfill every one’s demand adding that he too has to work under certain limitations and resources due to which he can not fulfill every one’s demand. While addressing the new PRI members, he urged them to let their schemes/proposals first prioritized by the state Govt to make it easier to take follow up action with the Central govt.  He also requested the Deputy Commissioner, Roing to immediately forward the proposal of feasible schemes to the govt. which are of public importance. He further assured to continue to work for the development of the area and welfare of the people of the East Parliamentary Constituency.

Explain fuel crisis: BJP

Admn steps in  to rationalize fuel stock

ITANAGAR, Dec 27: Following the ongoing agitation launched by North Lakhimpur based Assam Arunachal Petroleum Workers Association (AAPWA) since Dec 21 last which halts smooth distribution and supply of fuel from IOC depot, Doimukh, the Food & Civil Supplies department, GoAP and Itanagar Capital Complex Administration swung into action and began rationing of POL items so that requirements of all citizens can be met from the existing stock till resumption of normal supply.  

The Department has appealed the citizens to co-operate with District Administration and Petrol Pump owners so that the problem can be resolved amicably. The authorities have also appealed to AAPWA members to immediately resume loading and unloading activities to mitigate difficulties of citizens.

The Director Food & Civil Supplies C.N. Longphai has informed that IOC authorities are holding parleys with AAPWA  members in North Lakhimpur, Assam  and  matter is likely to be resolved within a day.

It is worth mentioning here that the AAPWA reportedly has been abstaining from loading and unloading of POL items from IOC depot, Doimukh  “due to an incident that took place on 6th December last at Yachuli in Lower Subansiri district involving IOC tanker bearing Regn. No.AS07-A9398.”  The strike has affected seven districts of Arunachal Pradesh leading to panic amongst the consumers apprehending shortage of POL items in and around state capital complex.

The Deputy Commissioner, Ziro has also been asked to inquire into the said incident and initiate necessary measures to ensure safety  and security of tanker drivers/helpers. Meanwhile, expressing surprise over sudden crisis of fuel, the State Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has sought explanation from the state Govt. regarding the current petrol and diesel crisis in the state.

Sudden crisis of fuel has caused untold miseries to the common people, the party said and demanded the state government to restore normal fuel supply immediately.

Claiming that huge number of petrol and diesel filled drums are being transported out of petrol pumps to unknown destination, the party expressed the apprehension that was not it a planned drama of the government to harass the common people.

 

 

 

The dilemma of APRB

The flavor of the season has been appointment of local youths (or atleast preference) in various government departments and PSUs all over the country, but the case of Arunachal Pradesh is different. Unemployment is high in the state and CM’s ‘Job Mela’ was a necessity.

But when it comes to PSUs like APRB (Arunachal Pradesh Rural Bank), the old decadent recruitment rules are used to filter out qualified local youths, depriving them of their rightful opportunity for employment.

The APRB was established in 1983 to cater to the banking needs of the rural people of Arunachal Pradesh only. Much water has flowed down the Siang/Dikrong and we have the present APRB staggering under its own weight. It is a scheduled bank sponsored by State Bank of India in collaboration with Government of India and Government of Arunachal Pradesh.

Being a PSU, the RR (recruitment rule) are governed by the central policy which means only 7.5% of seats are reserved for STs (read as Arunachalees), whereas the population of STs in Arunachal is 68.8%. In the last batch of appointment to Officer Scale-I, out of five posts only one was filled up by a local youth and the lion’s share went to non-Arunachalees. The irony is that even the two waiting list candidates are also non-Arunachalees.

Contrast this with Kerala Gramin Bank which appointed 10 out of 10 from local Keralites. In 2013, Mizoram Rural Bank appointed 100% (i.e. 7 out of 7) from local youths. So is with the rest of India. Why can’t this be done in Arunachal Pradesh? After all, the local youths are better equipped to handle the banking needs of the rural local populace (approx 77%, census 2011) rather than someone from Bihar or Delhi.

Hence, it is imperative that the local youths be given preference over non-locals in appointments to various posts under government departments. In the same vein, Arunachalees as stakeholders should be given preference in PSUs functioning in Arunachal Pradesh.

Dr Nabam Peter takes part in training prog in Japan

ITANAGAR, Dec 27: In a rare achievement for state Dr Nabam Peter, health research scientist under directorate of health services, government of Arunachal, attended “the training program on health administration for young leaders from India’ sponsored by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) under technical cooperation scheme of the Government of Japan from 28th November to 15th December, 2013.   Altogether 12 officials from across the country were nominated by Ministry of Health &Family Welfare, Government of India.

The objective of the training program was to train young leaders, who will become nation-building leaders in the future by providing them with opportunities to develop their specialities through experiencing and learning technologies and skills in Japan. There were lectures and observations on various topics like Japanese health insurance system, Prefectural administration of health care system in rural Japan (Miyazaki), Maternal and child healthcare, Elderly (Geriatric) health care, Emergency medicine and Development of medical technology (Device and manpower).

While sharing his experience, Dr Peter observed that, “The main learning from the Japan is that to achieve healthy society, the convergence of all departments is a must. In Japan, Health Insurance is based on social security scheme, Ambulance services is provided by fire department, Department of Disaster management in tackling emergency medicine, Schools has pivotal role in health promotion etc. Healthy society cannot be achieved without clean environment, education, sanitation, hygiene, food and healthy lifestyles.”

 

 

PPAs model code conduct released

ITANAGAR, Dec 27: People’s Party of Arunachal (PPA) has unanimously adopted few resolutions for strict adherence to party’s election code of conduct applicable to panchayat, municipality, legislative assembly and parliamentary elections.

The party in a meeting chaired by party president Nikh Kamin, has resolved that the party would go to the people with issues and refrain from using money power to buy votes or giving false assurances of jobs, contract works, supply orders or any other form of allurements. The party has also resolved to restrict as far as possible the conspicuous consumption of Indian made foreign liquor and sacrifice of Mithun etc during the poll campaigns.

“The party, however, will permit limited use of local ‘apong’ and ordinary arrangement of food items during the campaign period. The Party also permitted the use of traditional scarfs and locally available flowers as mark of respect and welcome to the leaders.”

The party however exempted display of cultural items, including songs and dances and traditional sports during other festive occasions like Independence Day, Republic Day, Indigenous Faith Day, Christmas, New Year or any major festivals.

The idea behind introduction of the unique model code of conduct is to remove the cancerous germ of corruption which starts at the very outset of the democratic process and compels the elected leaders to be corrupt after getting elected, said PPA Working Committee Chairman Kamen Ringu.

Chief Ministerial candidate of the party Laeta Umbrey stated that all the contesting candidates under party’s banner would religiously follow the laid down election code of the party and fully concentrate on the parties election manifesto and vision document. He further stressed the need for maximum participation of the people through effective platform speeches, debates, road shows etc.

 

 

‘Follow the path shown by Balasahab Deshpande’

ITANAGAR, Dec 27: Director of Higher and Technical Education, GoAP Dr. Joram Begi called upon one and all to follow the path shown by Vanyogee Balasahab Deshpande to protect, preserve and promote our age-old cultural heritage and faith.

Addressing the inaugural function of the birth centenary celebration of Deshpande, the founder of Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram, the parent body of Arunachal Vikas Parishad (AVP) at Vivekananda Hall, R K Mission here, Dr. Begi appealed to the people to take active participation in social welfare activities which would be the real tribute to Deshpande.

Dr. Begi is serving the society as Prant Pramukh of Vivekananda Kendra, AP and Chairman of Research Institute for World’s Ancient Traditions and Cultural Heritage (RIWATCH).

In his speech, Talom Dupak , EAC, Yupia appealed AVP to support his innovative ideas to consolidate the movement of Donyi Poloism. He said organisations like AVP are doing best for our society and we all should take initiative in such noble work. He also chanted some mantras for the wellbeing of everyone.

Shakti Pada Thakur, in-charge, All India Sports and Games of ABVKA narrated the situation of the tribal communities before 1952. He informed that Deshpande was a professional lawyer, serving as Area Officer at Jaspur nagar, but inspired by Thakkar Bappa and dedicated his whole life in the service of the tribal communities of the country. He had visited Assam, Nagaland, and Manipur also and met Golgi Bote Talom Rukbo, Rani Maa Gaidenlue, NC Zeliang, H Mawri and many other prominent tribal leaders of NE India.

In his presidential address, Pratik Potom informed the about the activities of AVP and appealed to extend their full hearted support in this noble work.

Tarh Takia, Gen Secy. AVP informed about their recent visit to New Delhi where they called on Vice President, Defense Minister and Leaders of Opposition on China issue.

The birth centenary of Deshpande was also celebrated at Namsai, Changlang, Yinkinong and many other places by local units of AVP in the state.

Earlier, the programme started with lighting of lamp followed by local prayer song by the team of Kargu Gamgi, Naharlagun.

AVP’s Capital Complex unit president Jomnya Siram explained the aim and objectives of the programme.

AVP vice president Techi Gubin, IFCSAP president YD Thongchi, Sanskar Bharati President Tony Koyu, IFCSAP general secretary Gichik Taaza, DPFS AP president Bengia Augung, Gyati Rana from Medar Nello Council were the dignitaries present on the occasion.

Teams from Kargu Gamgi, Medar Nello, displayed traditional dance and prayers in the function. Traditional fashion show was one of the main attractions of the programme in which the little champs from AVP Balwadis came on the stage in the dress of Netaji Subhashchandra Bose, Mahatma Gandhi, Pandit Neharu, Rani Laxmi bai and delivered few patriotic dialogues, the audience appreciated and congratulated the teachers of Balwadi for the innovative programme.

Biased selection process

Dear Editor,

Through the column of your esteemed daily, I would like to inform the readers regarding injustice meted out to my ailing patient. My ward Yato Makcha, a class III student of Town Middle School, Daporijo, is struggling for her life for the last seven months. She is suffering from Aplastic Anemia. The problem is that she needs to re-infuse her blood every month and per unit blood cost is Rs. 5000/- (Rupees Five Thousand). Her parent is a BPL card holder. As guardian of her, I had applied for financial assistance through CM relief fund and Arogya Nidhi Programme launched by state Government. I had visited several times to concerned authority for selection on medical ground. I am really very pained to share that till today she is not getting all the above mentioned benefits. The family members cannot afford for her bone marrow transplantation without financial assistance from government and well wishers. We also can’t afford monthly replacement of blood at R.K Mission Hospital. Even though nurses, doctors and staffs of R.K Mission Hospital has been extending their helping hand on humanitarian ground, which was one of the objectives of Swami Vivekananda, and specially Dr. Doley, who has been supervising her health at R.K. Mission Hospital.

The system of availing benefits from govt health schemes need to be changed for the betterment of younger generation. The genuine and deserving patient does not get benefit from such schemes. The present selection procedure is totally biased and unjustified.

Change Hapoli to its original name Hapolyang

Dear Editor,

This is with reference to news item published in today’s edition of your daily under the headline “APF asks for re-allocation of nomenclature of Hapoli”. The demand raised by Apatani Peoples Forum is genuine and need patient hearing. I would like to add some points in this regard. Actually Ziro was a small village located at present Old Ziro, because of this entire Apatani Plateau was known as Ziro. The first Administrative Centre was established at Ziro during NEFA days and district head quarter was established at so called Hapoli shifting from Old Ziro. But this Hapoli is also locally nonexistent as it is also misnomer nomenclature. I being a descent of the local donor of District Head Quarter from Michi village know the name of district HQ as Hapolyang i.e. plain on the top. Therefore, I would like to request through the column of your daily to include the change of misnomer name Hapoli to its original name as Hapolyang in their memorandum for bifurcation of District HQ Hapolyang and Apatani Plateau Ziro. I also request the Deputy Commissioner, Ziro to take cognizance of the changing of misnomer name Hapoli to Hapolyang, as Hapoli is not local name and does not carry any meaning. It is a name given by alien visitors, who could not properly pronounce Hapolyang.

Exciting time ahead for Indian citizen

The stage is set for a new and exciting chapter in India's political history to unfold as Aam Admi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal, who stunned everyone with his party's electoral success, will take oath as Delhi's seventh chief minister along with six ministers at the Ramlila Maidan on Saturday.

The sprawling Ramlila Maidan, lying between Old and New Delhi, that is been the venue of many a historic political rally in the past six decades, will provide the unlikely setting for Saturday afternoon's swearing-in ceremony that will see the activist-turned-political debutante storm into political power on the back of a campaign that became the cynosure of not just the country but the world.  It was at this historical Ramlila Maidan in the year 2011; Anna Hazare aided by Arvind Kejriwal fasted for 12 days demanding for implementation of Jan Lokpal bill.  The Indian politics will change forever when Kejriwal is sworn in as new Chief Minister of Delhi. The CM designate has already set new trend by refusing police security and government bungalows. It will be interesting to see how much impact this new trend of politics will have in the days to come. However there is no denying that AAP and Kejriwal has changed Indian political scenario for better.
